Breathtaking flash fantasy adventure.
When I played the last two games, my only issue was the lack of a storyline. They were both good games, yet it got a bit too repetitive with no real replay value, especially when you were already max level with all the skills and weapons.
This latest one absolutely shot those issues down.
I was able to partake in actual leveling, with a fun skill menu and item specialization with a good amount of options including refining, crafting, and skill mastery. Player to enemy difficulty was perfectly balanced for each game difficulty, and the characters were lovable, modern, and memorable.
The weapons were original and diverse while being able to be used tactically in many different scenarios, and none of the in-battle options were useless. Each one was useful in certain situations that you could encounter.
Tons of medals, so there was a lot that you could achieve. Not to mention these medals played a part in the need to gain access to certain areas of the game, so it always kept you playing just to find out what was in that area.
Quests, records, and the bestiary were also all cool features in the game. Very useful for feeling like you've accomplished something when you look back on them. Not to mention the bestiary actually played a part in battle, unlike the bestiaries in Final Fantasy where it was just a straight record that nobody really paid attention to half the time. I actually found myself trying to fill it up with as much data as I could. I also liked how not all the chests were wide out in the open. I actually had to look in the odd corners to find the good ones.
All in all, this game was very well made, finely presented, and memorable.
Outstanding job.
